I've seen on twitter people talk about today being #EqualWorkDay. That is, the day at which women start working for the money they were already receiving since the beginning of the year.

I like the concept. Because the #EqualPayDay doesn't account for equal work, introduce an #EqualWorkDay which accounts for the compensation.

EDIT: As far as I see, the calculation for EqualWorkDay is just:

(work hours of women)/(work hours of men)

Which makes it comparable to the EqualPayDay calculation:

(wages of women)/(wages of men)

  • EqualWorkDay: doesn't account for occupation & wages
  • EqualPayDay: doesn't account for work hours & occupation

Seems pretty much equivalent.
