(I appreciate any views on this, but mostly I just want to open my mouth and complain about this situation and spread the word that this kind of misandry exists)

tl;dr: GF’s friend is complaining about men all the time and tries to manipulate her into breaking up with me, as she hates me too. GF doesn’t want to lose the others in the friend group, but I don’t like the idea of her hanging out with this toxic idiot.

My girlfriend has two social circles, other one being her friends from uni. One of her friends is really radical feminist, a lesbian and someone who proudly tells people ”she has no men in her life” (other than her dad?) Red flag?

Well, first I saw no problem in this, everyone has the freedom to an opinion. But now that I know the way she talks… My GF and her friends have been meeting in our aparment for some time now and I have to listen to them. At first I was happy cause I wanted to meet new people. Lately I have been distancing myself from them, for a reason:

This one girl complains about men (and straight people) literally all the fucking time. If they are watching TV: ”who there’s so many men in this series”, ”that male character is stupid”. If they’re talking about studies: ”this male professor is really racist and sexist and…” If they’re talking about politics or feminism: ”fuck all men”, ”are you implying that men matter?” (ironic joke, or is it?), ”men are rapist pigs”. I know she has asked the lecturer if she can change groups because she doesn’t want to work with men, ofc she worded it in a way that it’s men who are always harassing her. She has also demanded that her essays must be double checked if the professor is a male. Great…!

I have also heard her complaining about me, she probably didn’t realize I was home lol. Apparently I’m mansplaining if I discuss things with them (even tho I mostly agree with them on many issues). I don’t understand the world, can’t handle emotions (what???), and I listen to ”mens fantasy music full of rape and whores” (she went thru my vinyl collection lol). Of course I have been furious at my GF for allowing her to talk like that in our home.

My GF told me she has also suggested breaking up with me (for no reason?), and that my GF should take precautions because I might hurt her or rape her. Nice…

Apparently this woman is a central person in this social circle, and my GF is afraid to talk about this issue. The others in this group are not as radical, most of them being quite ”normal” people I would say… My GF ofc wants to keep these friends, as she doesn’t want to study alone. She also fears that she might become a target for bullying or something, for example they already know shes not as left wing as they are and she gets some shit for this.

My feelings: to put it shortly: I don’t want my partner to hang around toxic people who want to manipulate them and who apparently hate me for being a male. We’re afraid that if she doesn’t want to be with them anymore they will accuse me of being a manipulator or something, or accuse her of something else.
