On the social media women and gay men complain about liking men

Because society allows it to happen. If your society is tolerant of bigots, you're going to have a lot of bigots. They're not all that different any other hate group like the KKK or the Aryan Brotherhood.

They're just treated differently because they hate men as opposed to African Americans or The Jews. For some reason Hate speech is bad but not when it's directed at men despite the fact there are plenty of Jewish and African American men in this country and the world.

Hating men is the popular thing to do nowadays. These people are trend followers that are trying to grow their fan base.

Try not to let it get you down, most regular people that you'll meet in life aren't so hateful.

A bisexual ex girlfriend of mine, long after we broke up, made a post on Instagram saying that "The fact I'm attracted to men shows that sexuality is not a choice". It was really sad to see because when we dated, she was firmly against the feminist man hating dogma. She obviously went way off the rails in the years since we broke up.

Regarding self-hating men, there's something Nietzsche said that feels pretty appropriate:

"The one who despises is always proud, even if the one he despises is himself"

Edit: in addition, I think openly expressing hate against a group always gives a feeling of power -wielding hate generally Is a means of power, as it gives licence for violence against and dehumanisation of the targeted group.

Bullies are bullies because it does something for them, and they can not be bullies without using hate

Because there are no repercussions of any kind, people feel comfortable, its why racism, sexism, antisemitism has suddenly had a huge upturn, because we now have 'acceptable targets' for such things.

There is a huge lack of respect for men as a whole. As much as i would like for it to just not be a thing, best we can do right now is attempt to make it socially unacceptable call bullshit when you see it and do not date, pay for or in anyway endorse people or companies who pull such crap.

I think it’s because many people have had a lot of similarly bad experiences when it comes to men, but specifically dating.

It’s a pretty widespread thing that women feel their boundaries are crossed, or completely disrespected when interacting with men (not necessarily on a day by day, I mean individual interactions. My pleasant interactions with men far outweighs the unpleasant, but bad experiences are hard to forget). It’s also well known that the act of turning a man down can turn violent in worst case scenario, or majorly inconvenient if said man doesn’t take no for answer. I don’t know a single woman who hasn’t, at one point, either been made very uncomfortable by a man, or assaulted by a man. Either way it’s a shared experience and although it doesn’t speak for all men, it certainly changes how people as a group feel about men.

I think it’s easy, and lazy to Blame “man haters” for these things, and perhaps they play a role, but at the end of the day this is because so many women have had a shared experience when it comes to negative interactions with men.

I think that’s something that should be looked at more closely.
