I feel overwhelmed and confused. How do guys fit into these 'alpha' and 'beta' labels? Are there labels for women, like do we have 'alpha' and 'beta' types? What are the benefits of these gender roles?

I'm going to college and plan to go to grad school. I don't want to have a kid while in school, but I don't want to drown in this scary ocean of unmarried, childless late-thirties women I keep hearing about. I don't plan to have my first kid in my late thirties, but I think I might have my eggs frozen/saved in my midtwenties if I am not already married. If that is expensive/unsuccessful, maybe I'd consider adopting? Do most people date in college until they find an awesome partner to battle through the rest of life with? Because that is my current plan...

I don't know why I keep delving further into subjects that keep making me question how I live (or should live) my life, but I blame my Theory of Knowledge class. Sorry if this ends up being scatter-brained and stupid, but I need some kind of brain dump to process information.

Edit: I am now okay with my plan, but still a little confused about the labels.

Edit 2: Thanks for the comments, they helped :D
