I write this in frustration, after an exchange I had with "Diritti Maschili", the official facebook page for the movement in Italy. They have written a lengthy thread where they list all the issues men face and how women can help solve them. Most of them are perfectly reasoneable, except for one, which to me seems to have absolutely nothing to do with upholding men's right.

It's going to be difficult to show you the post, because it's in italian. I am going to provide a link and you can translate what they wrote to make sure I am not making things up.

The TLDR is that a woman who chooses their partner based on their physical appearance is sexist. They advocate that unattractive men should still be able to date women, and that women should educate their daugthers to ignore physical appearances and only focus on their internal values, character and personality.

To which I replied with this. You can see my real name, and I don't care. What I said was that there is nothing sexist about wanting to have an attractive person as your partner, and that this has nothing to do with defending men's right. Their response was nothing short of absurd.

To summarize what they said, they told me that I am ugly ("bruttino in viso") and that women would never date me because of that. This apparently is an injustice against me, because this prevents me from showing a woman how beautiful I am on the inside. He continues, saying that men don't select based on physical appearances because men are more alone than women. And finally, they said that female loneliness does not exist, and can only be attributed to women being too picky.

This is fucking bullshit. And also the reason why people hold negative opinions towards the movement: any logical issue we could try to raise gets drowned by these pointless and offensive arguments.

Finally, he says that I am sabotaging the page and that I am free to leave. As a response, he deletes my comment and then all the comments I write further to ask why he deleted it.

Please. Don't tell me this is what MRA believes in. Do you believe that women cannot be lonely? To me this is incredibly sexist and absurd. We should focus on shit that matters: inequality in funding for prostrate cancer, unfair divorce procedures, asymmetrical suicide rates. Not these.
