Hello from Russia! I'm a 19 year old guy, and I just want to share some thoughts that have been boiling inside my head for quite some time.

I was raised in a good family. My parents lead a happy life together, and they set a great example for me. Of course, my parents fight from time to time just like every other couple out there, but my pops never raised his hand against my mother. Never in his whole entire life. They taught me to respect women, and I do. I never wronged a girl, never used a girl, never abused a girl, etc. I'm in an amazing relationship now which is full of mutual respect and I couldn't be happier, but I digress. I treat women with respect, just like I would treat a man, because that's the example that my parents showed me and that's what I believe in.

But now I see all this hate from the feminist community towards men just because they're men. How come I'm a potential rapist? A domestic abuser? How come I'm always trying to get into some random girl's pants? I have thick skin, but honestly - this shit kinda hurts. To never wrong a woman in your whole entire life and then being told that you're a part of the problem, and that you "should be taught not to rape"... Fuck off maybe? I will never be able to call myself a feminist because, unfortunately, feminism is as far as possible from being a monolith. There are some feminists who actually want EQUAL rights, and not MORE rights, and I respect that. For example: you may or may not know that domestic abuse is a really big problem in Russia. What's even worse, is the fact that our government baisically legalised it. To every person in Russia fighting to change that - more power to you, this shit is terrible and should not be considered something that "just happens in a household". But what I see more often is feminists just blindly hating on men for some reasons they just came up with. They pretty much take any morally wrong concept out there and add "man" to it.

Sorry if this is not adding any value to the sub, I know that this post doesn't have any structure, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the issue. Love y'all, be safe out there.
