Unfortunately, insta pagees like this are flooded with feminists screaming "toxic masculinity" as a way of passing off men's issues and blaming everything on men and masculinity

Can't even have a safe space online without some feminists violating it, let alone in real life :(

The issue isn't not speaking about it, it's lack of proper resources that are just unavailable for men who suffer.

I mean, I like the sentiment, but this takes the typical feminist narrative of victim blaming men for not speaking up and acting like the problem will be solved if they just change their attitudes. The fact is, when men speak up about mental illnesses they’re usually shunned and ostracized. I’ve struggled with depression on and off for six and a half years. At first I was very open about it, but people started treating me very disrespectfully and people (mostly women, though hashtag not all women!) who used to speak to me kind of stopped after seeing me be so vulnerable. Nowadays I have two people who I’m open with, but it’s just too risky to be that honest with the world as a whole.

These numbers seem a bit low to me. Not just for men, but women too. I thought that more than 1 in 5 people experience anxiety at some point.

There have been many studies on this proving that this is caused by toxic masculinity and males being unaccepting of emotions, kind of ironic to put this in here.
