so, my mom and my dad got divorced when i was about 2yo, almost never i got to see him(mostly on vacations), but i feel rly luck to have a good stap father around 4 yo and 14yo, we are still friends and he's my male model, but i still miss contact with my dad

My father left before I was born. He’s never tried to contact me or my mother, which is odd considering they were engaged. I was jealous of my peers growing up. I didn’t know and just assumed pregnancy was black magic and I just didn’t have a dad. As a male it’s made simple things like shaving, etc very difficult as there was no one to teach me how, and I still cut myself almost every time. Every man should have the right to have a father figure, in fact under the UNCRC it is the right of a child to be brought up by both parents (assuming that is safe for the child.) I seen a post here saying ‘It’s a mans right to walk away from pregnancy’ but it shouldn’t be. Hell, I was even bullied for not having a dad. I wish I had a dad, but I don’t. I’ll stand for men’s rights until the day I die. But if you’ve refused to be a true father to a child, fuck you.

Correlation doesn't mean causation here. Sure, fatherlessness can have negative effects on some children but it's misleading and immoral to claim that fatherlessness alone causes all the depressing figures above.

My father entered my life later when I was 12 and I couldn't think of a better time for him to be there as my mother had abandoned me. Without my father I wouldn't be the person I am today. We all need a father or a father figure to mold us into the men we need to be. Women can create boys, but only men can create men. Im humbled to say I have a father.

I'd like to know where and how these stats were compiled. I ALWAYS ask that about anything that includes percentages to make an argument. A lot of this seems to be one publication citing another. Sounds dodgy. Does anybody know?

Let's talk about this r/MensRights post, which is just another sorry example of the practically identical posts, which have been posted on this sub at least 3 times a week for at least the last 3 solid years with constant upvotes and agreements by commenters every single time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's talk about how one of the MRA's most consistent and frequent talking points is claiming that men should have the right to COMPLETELY ABANDON THEIR CHILDREN with zero legal consequences.

Every time a post like OP's goes up, you all sit around and pretend that for every single mother there is some poor oppressed father prevented from seeing his children by the legal system. No, actually, most of those fathers voluntarily walked away. They did their own kind of paternal surrender. I mean obviously the idea is very popular. You never stop whining about it even though the chance of it ever being passed is less than zero.

So how about you pick a side. These two positions are flatly inconsistent. You don't argue for the rights of fathers to be involved with their children while at the same time arguing for the rights of fathers to abandon their children.

LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.
