I feel. I lost my dad when I was 18. You never get over it, you just are thankful for what he taught you and use it to make your own legacy. And you cry every now and then.

It was a user posting about the sudden loss of the dad. The post has been removed.

Nevertheless, I lost my dad years ago. I was fortunate enough to be at his side when he drew his last breath.

Though I still miss him, I never felt he was very much there for me. I think he saw too much of himself in me and he never thought very much of himself. He just cracked on.

I used to work with him for four years when going to high school. We relied on each other and both had our routines keeping the farm running and making sure there was breakfast, lunch and dinner and the in-betweens necessary to keep things running. My mum had split because they couldn’t get their marriage to work.

I hope he appreciated my efforts but he never actually said anything about it. So I guess I missed him even before he passed.

Condolences, the best thing you can do is keep your Head up, keep moving forward, smile, be genuinely happy, and be thankful for the time you had. Honour him, by being a GOOD PERSON, that is the best way to remember him.

I try to remember this EVERYDAY.

Sorry for your loss, my grandfather and aunt died a while back, but thats nothing compared to lossing a father.
