God this reminds me of an article I read where men who “realised” they had assaulted women in the past talked about their guilt and the fact they didn’t know better and needed better sex education. It was beyond me how this got a positive response, there’s no way they didn’t know what they were doing was wrong. We learn social cues and communication skills from a very young age.
I’m so sick of male violence being treated like an innocent mistake rather than an intentional crime, they will blame everyone except for themselves.
