Response to white knight: Are you saying women are like children compared to men? That's a pretty sexist belief.

When someone physically assaults you, it's not your responsibility to fine tune self defense.

Yes it is actually. You can't use excessive force in the name of self defense. Otherwise you hitting Mike Tyson could result in a legal death penalty at the hands of Mike Tyson.

I've been carrying a concealed gas pistol chambered in 9mm pepper for self-defense since my late teens. This is my only option as my country has the strictest gun laws in Europe.

My gun doesn't discriminate and I won't either, I believe in equality. So if anyone attacks me I'm going to shoot pepper in his/her face first and ask questions later.

It won't cause any permanent injury but stops the attacker immediately.

I didn't have to use my gun yet but "It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it"

I've always loved point #1, because the counter argument is so simple- by that same logic we would teach our kids "it's ok to hit people who are bigger because you can't hurt them and they're not supposed to hit you back" But we don't teach them that, we teach them it's not ok to hit anyone. Why are women demanding a pass on violence that we don't allow even small children to have?

In many places, self-defence is generally the least amount of force required, to protect yourself or another person. More than that is assault.

That's just the law. Someone hitting you doesn't absolve you of your moral responsibilities.

Use of force is governed by your capacity to justify the action based upon using the least amount of force required to ensure your safety.

Gender is not necessarily a variable considered as opposed to body mass and capability.

If a male or female was pointing a gun at me with the intention of taking my life, if able I would apply lethal force without hesitation regardless of gender.

I don't know if it's any different where OP is from (it shouldn't) but legally, defending your self from harm means that you must stay within reasonable limits. You are only excused for the use of the minimum amount of force needed to neutralize the presently incoming attack.

So no,

means you'll get indicted for bodily harm against the person that slapped you. Same if you punch a man in the face when only thing he did was push you.

Of course you wouldn't. You've been conditioned since you were a kid that if you fuck with someone, expect to get fucked with. The fact that some people have reached adulthood without having ever learned this lesson suggests a lot of privilege.

An unarmed child can't hurt you in the same way that an unarmed adult can. Even an unarmed adult woman can cause serious physical injury or death if they attack you.

A child doesn't know better. An adult does, or at least should. Equating grown women to children diminishes them. I'd be insulted by this if I were a woman.

This means there is a prohibition on hitting women, but not men. If a woman internalizes this, and hits a man, she will feel entitled to do so and feel entitled to no repercussions for her actions. If she blocks a man from escaping, she still feel entitled. Preventing a man from defending himself is tyrannical. It gives women the sense that they can harm men with no repercussions.

That is by no means the definition of selfdefence I know. Selfdefence has to be inevitable.

That means if I get hit and I have the chance to avoid further harm by other means than hitting back then I have to choose these other options.

Selfdefence is for selfprotection only. Not as a respons or as 'education'.

The problem of your argument is, it's coming from someone who understands aggression.

The people you're arguing with are either scared of aggression or are inept in it.

Hence, their selective ideas around it. (restrict gun rights, but police can mow down a teenager without any impunity).

If there is a crowd, you are really only going to get one hit. I'd plan on aiming for the center of mass, and hopefully hit the liver on the lower right side of the ribcage, and make one punch as hard and as deep as I can.

I agree. Being a woman gives her NO right to hit anyone. A slap is striking someone.
I would prefer to restrain an attacker regardless of sex; IF it is possible. Women tend to lose their sanity when they attack someone. Women can and do put their full body weight while also biting, scratching, etc. Ultimately, it's best not to give her a full strength hit but you never know.
1. Depends on the age of the 'kid' and if they have a weapon or not. Reducing a threat does not mean you have to hit or kill the person.
2. True but restraining isn't always an option. I've learned many ways but it takes at least 2 people maybe 3 to completely restrain a person.
Regardless if it is a friendly relationship or a loving one, neither shut put hands on like that. Amber Heard is a good example of an insane manipulative woman.

I'm a former police officer and have a LOT of experience with trying to subdue people who want to fight. It's EXTREMELY easy to subdue someone by seriously injuring or crippling them. It's more difficult to do so without injuring them, and extremely difficult when they are actively trying to hurt you as much as they can.

this is why you see videos of multiple cops trying to subdue a single person/woman...it's not that the person is super strong or an amazing fighter, it's because the cops are trying not to hurt them.

This suggestion to "just grab her arms"...ok, then what? You're getting kicked in the nuts 100% guaranteed, and even if not what are you going to do, hold her arms forever?

Yes, if a child is attacking you, you should hit them. Teach them early that hitting someone will get you smacked.

Also, women and girls need to learn that boys and men are stonger, so if they hit you, it will hurt more then if a woman or girl hits you...
