In Germany the time of overall work per day is almost exacly equal. Men do a little bit more on weekdays therefore a bit less on weekends.

The difference is in the kind of work. Men do much more gainful employment, women do much more house/care work.

Ofcourse the talk is only about the much more house/care work women do. Never about the kind of work men do more.

I see it as bargaing. They want us to do more housework so we want them to do more payed work and share the gains with us. The gains of the housework are also shared. So just fair deal.

What do you call a female janitor? According to that article you call them a maid, pay them less, and use it as an indication of gender disparity.

Of course, everybody whose nose is a bit closer to the ground and don’t live in ivory towers can smell it as bullshit fairly quickly - a female janitor is called a janitor and their job is similar to a maid but also different enough that nobody except an entirely ignorant ass would mistake the two. There’s a reason why janitors are paid more than maids and it’s not because of job titles or genitalia.

What’s a male maid called? A cleaner and they make the same as maids.

The entire article seems to be informed by and written for people who’ve never lived with another person as a couple for any real length of time because the rest of us know exactly why women seem to be the primary caregiver in a relationship, it’s because their husband is the primary provider. Take your pick: primary provider or primary caregiver but don’t act surprised when women adopt the caregiver role, after all, they picked a mate who earned the same or more than them.

The only men I know who are primary caregivers are all on disability and it’s only their wives who I know who are primary providers, the rest of us? Our wives selected the role of primary caregiver for themselves and now they are being oppressed by their own choice?

Oh no! Women are being oppressed when they are given the freedom to make their own unlimited choices!
