I have an 8 year old boy and I am very much concerned about the environment and culture he is growing g up in. It scares me to think of what could happen sometimes if he just gets in someone's bad side.

Seeing the hypocrisy in Feminism to the point where I stopped calling myself one. Then I saw one of Karen Straughan's videos and it opened my eyes. I found the men's rights movement to be equally welcoming to both sexes, so it was easy to take part. I grew up seeing the men around me suffer, some to the point of suicide, so helping raise awareness about men's issues is the least I can do.

Growing up with an abusive mother, being sexually assaulted by my older sister, witnessing my innocent dad (the most kind, gentle, supportive person) be convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison on a false allegation.

This led me to look into the lies I had been told and bombarded with all my life e.g. if you get lost, go to a woman, women are kind and caring, men are by nature aggressive - as stupid as it sounds, following all I had experienced, it was like an epiphany to realise that my feelings of mistrust for all I had been told were correct, men aren’t inherently ‘bad’ just as women aren’t inherently ‘good’.

I’m married to a wonderful husband and have a wonderful son and dad, I’m not going to stand back and stay quiet any longer while they, and half of humankind, are treated so unfairly by the society in which I live.

I’m a feminist - the old school kind who just wants equal rights and opportunities and stuff (not the whiney snowflakes that call themselves ‘feminists’ nowadays).

I still want equal rights and opportunities for men and women, but in my work I see both men and women don’t get the same opportunities and experienced and capable men have to make way for very incapable women that are liked by no one. I’ve seen departments fail and companies (nearly) collapse as a result - which would mean people would lose their jobs, their income that supports a family, simply because HR selection criteria was about genitalia and not about skills ans capabilities.

In addition it’s not fair that this “30/50% women in jobs” only happens in the fancy, high level corporate positions and not in dangerous, dirty and/or physically demanding jobs. It is - just - not - fair.

Also I don’t understand why women can legally rob their ex husband’s empty in a divorce - even if SHE wanted/caused the divorce. If it were a man robbing his ex wife empty we’d all be up in arms and chasing him with pitch forks and burning torches...

It bothers me that men are blamed for “toxic masculinity”, men aren’t allowed to like/do “men’s things” anymore, but the problems men face are not taken seriously. Whenever a man shares his insecurities and asks for help he’s told to “man up”. Yet it is often the whiney women that need to “man up” and stop playing the entitled victim.
