Get the guys to do tasks around the shelter such as cleaning, gardening, laundry, helping in the kitchen, laying and clearing tables etc.

This will help the guys feel normal and useful, provide opportunities for conversation and friendship. Be a good distraction from trauma.

It will also help reduce running costs.

Get some friendly lawyers to represent the men for their legal matters including divorce cases, free of charge.

Should I set up certain masculine oriented activities for the men to do things? Maybe a work shop? Maybe sports?

Maybe like a dude ranch, with horse riding and lassooing. And whittling and square dancing. And lots of campfire songs.

If you said you wanted to own a restaurant(*) one day, it would be reasonable to ask:

Are you learning the business from the ground up, by working as a dishwasher or a waiter or whatever?
Are you learning at home, by cooking for your family and friends?
Have you gained any experience with small-scale models of being a restaurant proprieter, for example running a lemonade stand?
Do you have any clue of how big a commitment it is, and how often it fails?

The analogy can be applied to your shelter plan.

(*) Edit: Actually, a hotel is a better analogy. Tips for a teen who wants to start a hotel: get some experience and come back in 30 years.

I think psychological support from serious men psychologists (i.e., not committed to any of the modern misandric ideologies) would be great. Or at least guys trained to provide some kind of support and help in crises. Men's mental health is heavily neglected and not understood. Of course, this would probably be a long term goal that will demand time and resources, but I do think that should be taken into consideration.

I would donate my organs to see this vision come true, a HUGE facility with men who strive for their best, no grudges, just a place where men can fish, play piano, sing, lift weights, read, build houses etc etc . Everybody is happy, all men are like brothers, just like in a brotherhood. A place where men are focused on chasing happiness and making the world a better place.

The biggest obstacle will be acquiring a place for people to stay.

If you have your own place with extra bedrooms you could just offer to let people stay with you.

Outreach programs could also help. You may find that people just need someone to talk to in order to get advice. Degrees in counseling or psychology could help you there.

Take a step back. Building or renovating a shelter is a huge undertaking, and one that will face bizarrely huge opposition. Your actual goal here is to help homeless men and their families. To do this, you'll want to start with an endowment fund. Get a package 1023, register your organization as a 501(c)(3) and start stumping for money. Set a percentage for endowment, a percentage for overhead, and a percentage for current work. You can try to keep the second 2 low, but all three are absolutely needed.

Before you think about actually switching from contract studios and motel rooms to a shelter per se you'll need to be big enough that your endowment is your biggest donor and your overhead allocation includes you and some lawyers along with your counselors and other staff.

Your heart is in the right place, but it would cost too much to do what you want. Many others have tried to set up shelters for men & their children before, but have gone bankrupt a few months after opening.

Women's shelters rely on the United Way and government funding for most of their money. But both organizations are full of feminists, who will block any funding for your shelter.

Firstly, I'd recommend a hell of a lot more research. Step back and spend hours and hours researching shelter running costs, 501c3 applications and requirements, what you would need for said shelter, how to establish it, etc. etc.

That said, I think teens can make great changes. There are many wonderful stories out there of teens starting 501c3s or other organizations.

Start small....maybe a meetup group where victims can come talk about their story or recieve therapy or other resources they might need (info about existing shelters, job info, abuse survival info)

Once you have an organization established, one that would require less of a cost to establish, you can begin to grow, fundraiser, and fulfill that dream.

Most importantly.....don't give up...we need organizations like this and people like you.

Plus it looks great on a college application :)

Unfortunately, the best advice is "don't." A guy tried to do it in Canada, and women literally bullied him until he committed suicide.

If you tried, you'd likely never get funding off the ground because no group wants to piss off the feminists by supporting male domestic violence shelters. Even if you could get the funding, the leftist politicians in your city won't approve it because they don't want to piss off the feminists. Even if it got approved, feminists would picket and protest your construction every single day. Even if you got it constructed, feminists would protest it daily and constantly go behind your back to the city to get it shut down.

Women will never let it happen. The moment they find out you're doing something which exclusively helps men and doesn't cater to women, every woman you know will try to get you shut down. Your parents, your teachers, they'll all be utterly convinced you're a "misogynist" for wanting to help men in a way that doesn't automatically cater to women, too.

Save yourself the time, trouble, and money.
