I’d say pay the kid directly or cut her off, if the kid is over 18 I don’t think you have anymore legal obligations to pay for them

I think you should consult a family lawyer o explore your options. But i think him being legally classified as an adult will free you from paying that support.

if you still want to financially support your children then give the money directly to your kids. I wouldn’t trust women with child support money after I see shit on twitter like “first child support check came in, so I got these nice boots.” and then all the comments are some variant of “you go girl!”

And termination in support would require a court order updated. This process will require a full revaluation of both parties current incomes.

Even if the 19 year old is removed the remaining obligation could be more than what ya pay now.

If possible give it directly to the kids, it sounds like she’s probably using the kids to get extra money for herself.

Child support is for children, once you are over 18 you aren’t a child

Really depends on how much you want a relationship with your oldest son. Is he doing all he can to better himself, is he still in school/college?

But if he's just out of high school, has no plans for college, then now is the time he starts learning to be productive for himself, finds a job and starts working on his own income.

if you have a good relationship, chat with him, support him and perhaps still give HIM a little cash, not the Mother. At that age, even though i was working, I still struggled some weeks.

But if he's basically out of your life and doesn't even want to talk, then I'd argue you no longer have any obligation to support him financially and it's best to save that money for yourself.

Ohio law says you only have to pay after 18 if they are still enrolled in high school, but stops completely at 19. You have to notify the state that he is over 19 though.

Is he in college? Does he have a job? Is he trying to do something with his life? I would say that providing he is doing what he needs to for himself, if you want to continue to help out your adult son, you can either give him money directly. Or give him a credit card that you can monitor for it's use.
