What I've found is that some 'marriages' were only on paper to begin with.

Some chick affiliates herself with you for a bit, publicly, maybe there are pictures... some fraudulent paperwork gets filed, perhaps in another state, on the proper paperstock, and BOOM! She's collecting, perhaps without your knowledge, if she has a deal worked out with your employer, or if she has stolen some property of yours that generates passive income, or fiddled with the accounting, then rationalizes her posession of your work to the government thusly. This also requires tax fraud, but that's a simple matter of signal interference, because most people efile.
