Has anyone been told by a Judge they have to get a better job so they can pay more alimony child support

I asked a judge how I was supposed to live on my income after the alimony amount was decided. She told me, “I guess you’re going to have to get another job. “ so I asked, “Are you telling me to get two jobs but you’re not telling her to get one?” Her answer was, w/o hesitation, “Yes!”

I've heard of some men who have taken lower paying jobs to be close to their kids that their mother moved to another city. Judge didn't care about the change in income levels and made the men keep paying at a higher rate despite less income. Felt bad for them because they were pretty much forced to never see their kids or live in a van.
