This is very likely to be illegal.

Before they offer female only swimming they must have done a survey of all users which costs about £10,000. They have to write to the locals.

I will pursue it if you give me the address.

I see this is in the UK. It could well come under the remit of the Equality Act 2010. More specifically...

If you want to provide separate services for men and women or a single-sex service for men or women only, then you need to be able to objectively justify providing your service in this way. You must meet other conditions as well, such as showing that a joint service would be less effective, or that men's needs and women's needs are different. Read more about exceptions.

For example:

A gym restricts access to its small sauna to men at some times and women at other times. Each sex has access to a mixture of daytime and evening use. At the times when the opposite sex is excluded, the gym is providing a single-sex service for the sex which is allowed to use the sauna. The gym believes the restriction is objectively justified and can also show that the sauna may be used by more than one person and a woman might object to the presence of a man (or vice versa). It is likely that the provision of the service in this way will come within the exception.

At my local pool the woman's only session is mainly attended by Muslim women who hold the religious belief of being modest around men .

Having a woman's only session accommodates for this

Men should also get there own session but there is a reason why a woman's only one exists lol

I get the point being made, but at the same time you have to look at it (from a business perspective) of how to grow clientele. If there are significantly more men than females, they have to create a ploy to entice more women. I’ve seen several men’s only Yoga classes because, again, that’s a group that’s significantly underrepresented and a business is trying to grow it .

I think this is because of the possible rape on a pool or something? Don't really know but that might be it.
