According to an anonymously conducted random telephone survey for safe self-reporting, females made up 99.95% of rape victims (https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6308a1.htm#Table3)

Wrong and misleading.

Table 1 at the top shows the lifetime estimates of rape victims. if you do the maths 23,305,000/(1,971,000+23,305,000)*100=92.2%

It is also misleading because rape is defined by penetration. Made to penetrate is a separate category, so a woman forcing a man to have sex is not counted as rape.

Thirdly, if you look at the statistics for the previous 12-months you'll see that 1.6% of women report being raped and 1.7% of men report being made to penetrate.

If we compare this to my first point, where more than half of the people who reported being raped or made to penetrate, we can see that there is a big difference in the ratio of men and women who get arrested and those who committed the crimes. Although not all forced to penetrate cases have a female perpetrator, I would expect to see a lot more than 2.8% of arrests being women.

Not true. They're not taking into account unreported crimes. Most men wouldn't report abuse such as unwanted touching because of people who believe only men can be the abusers. I have posted my thoughts to their discussion. Maybe they will take my comments on board. Fingers crossed.

We don't know because the stats the government actually collects certainly say it's not true. Don't forget, you're not looking at actual crime stats here. You're looking at surveys and results of studies carried out by research activists up there. Even when the CDC "promotes it" it doesn't necessarily mean it's a statistic they came up with using their own methodology. They simply trust groups like RAINN to do it all for them. On the other hand, feminist activists have muddied the waters so much, it's really pretty much impossible to know which stats have any veracity and which don't.

There's still reason to doubt much of it, however.

For one thing, nobody arrests women when they commit sexual crimes. For that reason, most of them aren't reported in the first place. Then there's the fact that even if they completely admit their guilt, they'll still be let off. No shortage of evidence for that one, at least.

Then there's the encouragement given to "victims" of rape who weren't really raped. In the UK, I've seen it claimed (although I have no knowledge other than that) that rape victims are compensated by the state. I mean, let's see here: My friends keep insisting that because I was drunk my consent didn't actually count. Of course, I got him black out drunk because I don't think he'd have slept with me otherwise and I didn't bother to ask him if he wanted to have sex with me in the first place but...female, so it's okay. Then the state will give me money for claiming to be a victim. Then, even if somebody calls me out on my bullshit, nothing at all will ever happen even if this guy winds up doing time for raping him. Right on! Who do I call to report a rape?

Any chick can pick up the phone at any time and have the cops haul you in for questioning even if you've never seen or heard her name before. It's not unreasonable by itself but you can bet your bottom dollar that women wouldn't have to worry about any of that. And she doesn't necessarily have to accuse you of "rape" either. She can just say you touched her inappropriately based on her subjective definition. Brush past her and got a handful of tit by accident? Go directly to jail, do not pass Go.

Most feminists don't like those stats because they don't include all the things that make the problem out to be a lot less (like, a couple orders of magnitude less) of the crisis they want it to be.

96% of people who sexually abuse children are male.

This figure is based on law enforcement reports, as per the source that their original source cites. We already know that law enforcement reports are subject to systemic biases in reporting. If we use victim surveys then we get a female perpetrator indicated by 14-25% of male victims and 6-14% of female victims. This is the same effect we see in their second set of statistics, where the 97% males arrested for rape falls when victim surveys are used. Overall, they seem to be very inconsistent with their choice of reported rapes vs unreported rapes and don't seem to delinquently address that topic.

More broadly, the question of whether men are more likely than women to sexually offend against children is hard to definitively answer. Based on my own reading and interpretation of Pedophilia and Sexual Offending Against Children by Michael C. Seto I think you could make a decent argument that current models indicate they are but those models are based primarily around the study of adult men and it is not clear whether they can be readily transposed to juveniles or women. So perhaps the models will change in the future?

Although this is a good post, the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it in future. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

The definition of rape they are using doesn't include men being forced to penetrate. It only counts penetration as rape.
