The most commonly repeated misleading bit, though with a semi/weak correction, is about the "bash a violent bitch month". In the original article there is a bit at the end along the lines of (not word for word) "do we believe this, of course not - legal means should be used if abused ... now look at this article saying women should attack and/or kill men if they feel the man is abusive and that the women should be automatically supported (i.e. even where the claims of abuse are tenuous)". Countless papers mentioned the article, but edited off the bit at the end.
