I would like to know the other side of the story.

The CBC is definitely politically motivated. They've been pushing that narrative for a long time now.

We have now seen with definitive proof how the media has been... Let's say "less than honest" with us. Especially recently (Covington, Jussie Smollett).

Especially when it comes to these types of stories.

I'm particularly interested in the "dirty picture" part of the story.

For the whole story, the female observer is using reported speech. "He said X. Then he said Y."

Then, suddenly, she switches to third person speech when claiming he asked for a "dirty picture".

This could mean many things. This could mean she interpreted what he said as "dirty picture". This could also be the reporter leading her to suggest this.

Did he say the words "dirty picture"? That's my question.

I highly doubt that. If you want to take a dirty picture of someone, I highly doubt you would use the words "dirty picture".

Furthermore, the switch from reported to third person speech is very telling. They come from different places in the memory. The reported speech is the "visual" memory, the third person speech is the "creative" memory. Very important.

When doing detective work for example, this is a key distinction. Did he say exactly those words? Or is that what you interpreted?

My other question is about "teenage girl". Was she a teenager? There is zero evidence to prove one or the other.

It's entirely possible she was a consenting adult.

In any event, the CBC likes to push a narrative. And the way they do that, is they only present one side of the story.

In the immortal words of our (Feminist) Prime Minister: "People experience interactions in different ways."

I, for one, would love to know the other side of the story.

That's what journalism is btw. Getting both sides of the story.

The media has lied to us before. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were doing it again.

I can't seem to find an age in the articles for the, "teenage girl". If she was really young they would have put that fact out there. This leads me to think she is 18 or 19, or at least the age of consent. Any one got more info?

even if this incident did occur, the self congratulation is a bit much.

The guy was a dick. Asking for naked pictures and hitting on a captive audience. Even if he liked her, should have kept the conversation completely PG and just handed his number as he got up after they had landed.

I do think the title is biased. It makes sure to specify women were the ones protecting her (when men intervene in similar cases too), and called the victim a "teenage girl" to make the guy sound worse, but that doesn't mean he knew she was young, especially if she's in her late teens and looks older. But yeah, doesn't justify his behavior.

Uh, pretty sure if you make suggestive comments that is fucked up no matter the woman's age. Anyone defending this guy is a fucking creep.
