Kinda agree with that person. It's about a community where they can find support and people like them and pushing the idea that you don't demonize people for their sexuality or identity. I'm not a fan of identity politics but do like it when people don't feel shame for who they are. Doesn't mean I think that's all they should be about.

I agree with the poster, tbh. There is no point in calling yourself part of the queer community if you're... just not part of it? ... but God damn do we do a lot infighting. It's bitter, exhausting, and yes, hurts men a lot.

I could probably write entire book series about the shit we put each other, but one of the piss points du jour (in certain small but very loud and confrontational circles) is how masculinity is inherently toxic. It's ok to be butch or a stud, but you can't be male. This has meant people doxxing trans boys (as in actual minors) for being 'self-hating girls', people harassing and literally begging trans men to choose something else (because that's how being trans works?), and a whole shitfit about how trans men are a conspiracy to steal butch lesbians and erase/flatten the possibilities that queer women can experience.

There's also this small but loud idea that transphobia does not exist. Transmisogyny does, but not transphobia. It's basically the "sexism doesn't exist, only misogyny" but with transgender sprinkles. (And hey, you go tell Brandon Teena that transgender men don't struggle because of our gender.)

Like I said I could go on and on and on. Obviously not all queer folks are like this, but you know how it is with any huge group of people, especially when some of them are online... shit gets ugly sometimes.

The LGBT community is for people who are not straight and/or cis so I don’t see how that’s exclusion. That’s literally the purpose of the group and doesn’t mean being cis or straight is at all any lesser. Most people are straight and cis that’s why it’s a minority group. There would literally be no point in having an LGBT community if everyone was considered a part of it... I don’t see the issue here.

I actually enjoy reading some of their logic. I have come up for a term for it if you'll all indulge me. Their logic is like a twizzler, twisted as fuck. Have you seen the commercial where someone is sticking a twizzler into someone elses face as they try to hold a straight face? Well they end up just laughing and eating it. The twizzler logic is there for us to enjoy, not take seriously.
