Read some reviews first, and decide if it's a movie worth spending your money on.

Even the reviews in very left-wing, pro-feminist publications are admitting that it's a boring movie and the character has no personality.

You can go see it in theaters if you like. But maybe you could buy a ticket from a different movie to not support it and hop into the Captain Marvel showing.

This way, you can see it, and also not fund people pushing an agenda.

Or just pirate it, Hollywood makes enough.

I'm gonna say, break the marvel cycle. Your second point is entirely valid, but treating every marvel movie as must see is becoming a problem in their strategy for me. I think it looks bland, a lot of people have said its bland, I'm not gonna waste money on a bland thing.

Edit: also, I don't think many people here are actually boycotting the movie over politics. I think at most it's backlash to the "they say its bad because they're sexist" defense mediocre movies roll out to explain lukewarm reception.

I want to question the 2nd point.

They're 2 persons. Yes. But the actor makes money off the character portrayal, and the character gathers crowd because of the actors antics during film promotion. 2 different persons (may be), but they're co-dependent with a single goal.

It should be easy to separate the celebrity from the art. Sometimes it's more difficult than others. This time it's difficult for me. If I buy a ticket, I might wait until a discount day. The theaters I go to offer $5 tickets on Tuesdays.
