If you had to choose between divorced with no kids and alimony to the ex, or knocking up a girlfriend and paying child support, which would you pick?

Alimony. If you want to see the kid, you have to deal with the mother. If you don't want to see the kid, you deal with guilt about creating daddy issues in your offspring. With just alimony it can all be done through lawyers without any guilt.

Alimony. That's not even a choice for me. I do not want to have children and then be separated from them or have them used against me. Child support isn't as bad because it has a time limit but the cost to my mental health and, much more importantly, the potential cost to the mental health of my children would far outweigh alimony.

Its a tough choice, personally I'd choose the latter since the child support is legally meant for the child. If the mother misuses it, she will likely see financial repercussions.

This is all assuming a paternity test shows that the child is biologically mine.

Alimony, no question.

Alimony doesn’t last 18 years, and won’t be a fraction of what child support will be.

Plus once she’s remarried, the alimony stops.

Anyone that has been through the family courts will tell you this is a no brainer.

Kids. Child support, as awful as the system is, could be considered the price of having kids. This is only considering that I have no less than 50/50 custody.

I'm not going to pay some whore monthly payments for her limited services.
