Apparently, even women who prey on children are not real predators: parents are upset by school's handling of sexual abuse by a female staff member and 5 male students

Considering the true motivations of abusers can't be known, this presumption is more likely an extension of gender stereotypes (e.g. that women are always driven by "romance" over sex) and cognitive dissonance in regards to female sex predators. Adults preying on and sexually abusing children is immediately associated with men taking advantage of young girls or boys to the point that even when women do the exact same thing, the automatic assumption is that it's not the same

It's not really abuse, she was actually in love with the victim, and other kinds of assumptions that are more comfortable than recognizing that women are at least just as dangerous to children as men are. Considering that in this case she's a serial predator who abused at least 5 boys, it seems pretty safe to assume it wasn't due to any emotional connection

But honestly, even if it were because "they have more emotional control over them (the victim) because of their age", a mature person emotionally manipulating an immature child is predatory behavior no less harmful or malicious than if the motivation is purely sexual

I didn't know until today that Larry Nassar had a female accomplice named Deborah Van Horn.She's just been indicted for the sexual assault of a child.
