There is no single idea called the red pill. A lot of different ideas get referred to with that metaphor.

Which idea somebody is talking about when they say 'red pilled' depends on which idea they're talking about. The only thing common to all the various ideas is that they're considered by the idea holder to be true, but hidden from ordinary people in some way.

Within the MRM context "The Red Pill" is a documentary film directed by Cassie Jaye in which she interviews leaders of the Men's Movement. The Red Pill as part of the hookup culture has nothing to do with the MRM. That is an online group that is not connected to the MRM.
