So I just need some perspective from you guy on whether I'm over reacting or not. There is a thread on /r/letnotmeet where a woman was harassed by a male uber driver. A bunch of people ended up commenting things like:

I agree completely. Apparently we’re raging feminazis for acknowledging that most women are murdered and raped by men and we want to be safe. I get it, “Not All Men,” blah blah blah. But it might be that one time you decided to be polite that gets you killed. If men are going to get all butt hurt when they hear something like that, maybe instead of attacking the woman who said it, they should address their fellow men about how not to take advantage of a drunk woman or to take no for an answer.

to me this is no different than commenting something like

I agree completely. Apparently we’re raging white supremacists for acknowledging that most whites are murdered and raped by blacks and we want to be safe. I get it, “Not All Blacks,” blah blah blah. But it might be that one time you decided to be polite that gets you killed. If blacks are going to get all butt hurt when they hear something like that, maybe instead of attacking the white who said it, they should address their fellow blacks about how not to take advantage of a drunk white women or to take no for an answer.

Anything pointing out this double standard was immediately downvoted and lated removed by the mods. Am I tripping or are both of these statements equally shitty?
