Something I've recently started noticing is that men seems to be thought of as highly disposable in movies.
I like watching horror movies and the movie I noticed it first with was Alien Versus Predator. Out of a crew of 20 something people the only woman is the sole survivor. In other movies it happens a lot too. Any women you see in it are some kind of character even if they are just a member of the support cast while men are used whenever you need cannon fooder.
Try to remeber any shooting sequence in a movie. How many men were just shoot like it was nothing versus how many women?
I tried googling this a bit but have found nothing of substance. What do you guys think? What can be done about this?
