Outstanding article. I disagree with one small point:

I'm certain it's a combination of both. There were biological reasons men tended to sacrifice themselves for women. That doesn't go away so easily. It's just massively reinforced by society now.

Besides that, it's very good and deserves more attention. We should do what OP says and give the author a shout out as best we can. Good post, OP.

I disagree that is societal I think it has a biological origin given that eggs are expensive and sperm is cheap. Culture may inform it as well however to simply that it's not biological is incorrect

Women just want men to treat them as equals. And I respect that. I’m all for gender equality.

Actually there is a gigantic industry and movement that wants women to be treated better than men. Of course they deny it but there is no way around it: there is a huge number of women and activists who think that equality means tha women are preferred in education, firms, families, courts, politics and so on. Besides, women need men to run the world's infrastructure and to help them with their biggest dream: to have babies and raise them.
