That's a lot of responsibility she's throwing around.

It seems to me that as we find the courage to confront abusers, we also increase our imperative to act responsibly with these newfound and overdue powers.

Yes. Any system where power is not matched to responsibility is oppressive and corrupt. Maybe she's reacting to "recent events" like the suicides of men who have been accused anonymously and assumed guilty with no evidence.

He touched her knee about five times?

Good fucking lord, this is getting to the point of sheer lunacy. What kind of ridiculous prudes are running that show that a man touching her knee is now sexual harassment? ALL humans touch each other as part of the normal courting process, and while it's women that typically initiate the touching - on an arm, on a leg - occasionally men do so as well.

It's not automatically sexual harassment if a co-worker or even a boss seeks out a relationship or sex with you, or if there's a power or money imbalance in your relationship. It's not even sexual harassment if he directly supervises you. It's unethical to sleep with an underling, of course, and one might have the power to totally ruin their underling's career (and vice versa, these days), as well as implode the entire office, but it's not sexual harassment unless that power gets leveraged and that job becomes implicitly or explicitly dependent upon the sex.

The real nasty shit about this entire nightmare witch hunt is that no one is asking why all these women feel they cannot say no, or are checking that against whether they CAN actually say no. I don't care if your perception was that you were trapped. If you weren't actually trapped, then that's your head talking, not reality. We don't convict people in the court of public opinion or a real court based on your own fears if those fears aren't reasonable.
