Feminists believe they are in a "war" against men. Propaganda is necessary in wartime. Terrorizing a home population (in this case women) with bogus or grossly exaggerated threats is a common form of propaganda.

Because it allows them to exert control over women by fear, which leads to politicians seeing an avenue to gain support, and they dont give a flying fuck if it's true or not.

If the statistic was even remotely close to true (feminists know it isn't) an actual feminist (unicorn?) would be ordering women to go to online only colleges/college classes. No person in their right mind would send someone to a 1/4 odds rape fest for the potential for better job placement.
