I would suggest that you stop supporting a misandrist institution. Quit and tell them why, then volunteer somewhere where they don't assume you are a pedophile because you are male.

What's really unfortunate is that it's not isolated to that church for people to presume children aren't safe around men and / or that it's inappropriate for men to be alone with children, and additionally that they're safe around any and all women

It's a horrible discrimination that both deprives children of having positive, intimate relationships with men and simultaneously facilitates any abuse of children by female predators

What message does it send to the kids if they have to specifically get a female chaperone to go to the bathroom? Kids aren't dumb. They will start to wonder what's *wrong * with your male chaperones.

Other than the standard Police Record check with the Vulnerable person check there are no gender requirements for the Nursery at my wife's Church.

It was a new policy that started last year, the old women raised a big stink over it. "We are all Christians, we should trust one another."

Pastor let hew know there have been some "concerns". She was taken back since before then all the Nursery/Sunday School volunteers were women.

My Father in Law in one of the Sunday School Teachers now and he loves it. Since the backgrounds checks there have been 0 issues.
