We need to shut the fuck up, grab our beach chairs and coolers, and watch this thing implode.

Sometimes people just need rope to hang themselves with, this is one of them.

Here is the thing. These festivals take a lot of money to run. In turn, a successful festival can generate a huge sum of money. They are investments. That isn't a bad thing, it is just a thing. A description of how the money comes to be to make these things run.

Understand this - the people that have the deep pockets to fund these things do NOT do it because they love the community and don't mind taking a hit for the greater good.

And that is why we should shut the fuck up and not stand in the way of this happening.

There is no way in hell this little concert is going to earn its money back. Those investors are gonna take a bath.

it may work one time, but i don't see women only festivals as the future, this is like porn, this time is only women's next time it will be something different. The objective is to look for that monetary hit in order to sustain itself, disregarding the social cost it has

Well, I did say this was a risk months back when the story first broke. And got shouted down by a couple of feminist trolls in the sub telling me to wait and see as nothing had yet gone ahead. My point was it would go ahead unless people protested early on. Knew they were trolls...

So ... a festival without end, then? It's statistically impossible that ALL men will behave themselves, unless Sweden magically develops the means to defeat mental illness, addictions, sexual and physical abuse that creates its own predators in the next generation, etc.
