Let's talk about the mental load

I thought the men could have a talk about the 'mental load' instead of being talked at in a condescending tone.

The mental load includes the planning work required to ensure the children make it to Bollywood dancing, the refrigerator is stocked for dinner and the smoke detector battery gets replaced. It's incessant, gnawing and exhausting, and disproportionately falls to women.

Does it though? I mean, can the majority of woman in this world put their hand on their heart and say they help with:
- Fixing technology when it breaks
- Home renovations
- Physical tasks
- Driving on long trips
- Talking through masses of emotions in a logical manner while hiding your own
- Being the 'tough guy' when the family gets screwed, or when there's conflict
- Managing the bills
- Cooking
- Cleaning

I think the problem with feminist arguments like this one is that they are self-fulfilling and don't give men one inch! They assume that all men are lazy bastards who do nothing and throw all the work at their wives. Women never do this. And oh... because women (potentially) over-estimate/over-value their work.

The telling tale of this 'article' is that women sure don't appreciate the work of their male partners. IMO that's something in itself.

It must be hard being lied to your whole life and then trying to figure out how the world actually works in your late 20's early 30's. Us men are fortunate enough to start getting shit on at a young age to build up a thick skin to it, and move on with our lives.

Society and women require men to sustain the "mental load" of supporting himself, his spouse, multiple children in luxury; supporting them from the grave (life insurance); defending them even at his own risk; often, assuming responsibility for all financial matters; often, assuming responsibility for all difficult, heavy, or exposed (outdoors) aspects of maintaining a home for the family.

This mental load puts men to death 5 years earlier than women. It is shocking that neither society nor women seem to give a damn.

Soon as i saw this headline at the ABC a few minutes ago, i knew they were going to whine that it's mostly a female problem. Needless to say, i didn't read the stupid thing. We really need to shut down the ABC, it's nothing but pseudo-leftist propaganda being financed by people most of whom don't even agree with it! We can get that at The Guardian without paying for it!
