I think her boyfriend meant well and it's definitely posssible that he was seeking outside comfort for the situation, but if he knew what his parents were like or how they would react, it was probably unwise to tell them about it. The fact his parents are calling her a murderer and will likely be inhospitable to her for a while could definitely cause some rifts and possibly destroy their relationship sooner or later. I only assume that because I've seen it happen, sadly.

Not to sound like an ass, but we need to be very careful when we say things like this, because it can very easily be turned back around and used on us from a different perspective. Ultimately it is her body and I respect her for owning her decision like an adult. However, I don't think something as impactful as abortion should be considered something that only affects the one getting it. It very obviously affected her boyfriend, for example, and for the record it's actually refreshing to see that a lot of people understand that in the thread - especially under the current top answer.
It's a messy situation. I hope the boyfriend is doing OK in all of this and that he has some support as well. I doubt the hostile reactions from his parents are what he expected.
