I saw that post being discussed in another sub, and thought this was an excellent response to it:

Better analogy:

Girl meets drunk Guy at bar. Guy buys her a very expensive drink. They talk, have fun, Girl finishes her drink, then leaves and returns to her friends. The next day she is woken by police at her door.

The Guy from the bar woke to find money missing from his wallet. He was so drunk the night before that he has little to no recollection of the events. He assumes therefore that the Girl stole the money directly from his wallet, and called the police.

When the Girl truthfully claims that the Guy voluntarily bought her the drink, she is accused of lying. When evidence is presented corroborating her story, The Guy claims that it doesn't matter, as he was too drunk to be making good decisions, and cannot be held responsible for his actions. As he was irresponsible, it was therefore the Girls responsibility to know about his mental state at all times, even if his statements at the time were an inaccurate reflection of his mental state. All the onus was on the Girl.

As the Onus is on the Girl to know that the Guy was vulnerable, and reading people's minds is a commonplace practice, the only remaining conclusion is that the Girl intentionally sought out and victimized that Guy in order to display her power and control. She felt entitled to the Guy's money, and was too evil to take no for an answer. Any attempts to defend or explain herself are only further evidence that she tacitly condones theft, and needs to be better educated on how not to steal from innocent vulnerable men.

This event is an example of the Theft Culture that exists within our society, a system which supports and encourages the theft of men's money. If we wish to end Theft Culture, we must teach women not to steal, and to respect men and their right to keep their own money. No man deserves to lose money.

I find the title of this post misleading. Alice Brine is not merely discussing "drunk sex", she is clearly referring to a classic "no means no" situation in multiple places. The analogy is not as offensive as the title implies.

This has me worried this will be used as an example of us minimizing rape as drunk sex. We get accused of that BS for rightfully confronting regret sex, I don't want us using it for vocalized "no" situations.

That said, a car is more valuable than an hour's rent inside a vagina so I believe most rape is a lesser crime than grand theft auto.

Obviously mitigating circumstances: GTA is less bad if you return the car, especially if undamaged. Rape is worse if it causes health expenses like STDs, defensive injuries, pregnancy.

Both can be traumatic psychologically. Especially if one is present during the intrusion or threatened with a weapon during the abduction.

Yeah, it's shit that men take the blame when the other party regrets consensual drunk sex, but let's not pretend there are plenty of guys out there that would be willing to take advantage of a drunk woman.

If you're dumb enough to get blackout drunk in public, without having someone to constantly watch you, then you deserve to get your watch stolen, digitally penetrated, etc.
