Anti-capitalist rhetoric at it's finest, basic income will not 'fix' anything, it will bankrupt the country, do you have any idea how much it would cost to put the entire population on minimum wage of the amount you're proposing? Universal Basic Income is nothing but a pipe dream thought up by Socialists who think they're more clever than anyone else but have put zero thought into the consequences of what they're proposing.

A $15 is another outright lunatic idea, honestly, where do you people fucking think this will work? For Americans I just want to point out that $15 is the equivalent of £11.33 just working off the current exchange rate. People who advocate for a minimum wage are actually telling people to give them a higher wage than what we even get here in the UK which is £7.50. I think even a lot of leftists in this country would actually consider that too much.

I actually happen to have done a bit of maths on the subject, so I'll shamelessly plug a blog post I did awhile back about Universal Basic Income and why it's such a bad idea, be warned it's a long read, but I have done some basic calculations.

Feel free to correct me if I've gone wrong somewhere, but the TLDR is, these socialist programs that are being proposed are so fucking expensive even any western country that implements them would be bankrupt within the year.

The OP is an anti-capitalist trying to take advantage of disenchanted voters and get them to go from an extremely feminist party to a hard left anti-capitalist candidate. Rather reminds me of the French elections where you had people who didn't want to vote for Le Pen or Macron getting taken in by a fucking anti-capitalist in a similar way.

If you're going to propose a welfare system, have the decency to do the maths on it, it really is remarkable to me that the left gets any votes these days because they're literally just shouting they'll give people free stuff if you vote for them without any consideration of where it's going to come from.

Anyone voting for the NDP are voting for more government handouts and less financial accountability. They think that they can spend their way out of trouble. Where is all this money going to come from to fuel these sick days, and basic income for lazy fucks who don't want to work, the free tuition? From the TAXPAYERS.

The NDP is just another wing of the liberal ideology.

Stealing money from people so you can give free money to others is immoral. This is not positive change.

Even once you get past all of the mental gymnastics you have to do to believe that theft is a positive thing, you still have the issue of most men will be the ones getting robbed and most women will be the beneficiaries. So this is not a positive mra issue no matter how you look at it.
