God forbid a guy wants to know if he’s the biological father. Just a Reddit thread crucifying a dude for not being a dumbass who takes the word of his partner without question.

What do you do when a downvoted comment in a thread about stopping body shaming triggers you? Body shame the person who made the comment of course.

But of course. Patriarchy is the cause of all the world's ills, and rape culture is the patriarchy's right fist.

Whatever feminists say about rape culture in general, which are all lies, are absolutely true about their own stance on the rape of men. To say that the rape of women is ignored/condoned/encouraged by culture is absolutely retarded, but sure as hell it's true about the rape of men. So, when commenters say this guy's case is ignored because rape culture, they're perfectly right, it's the feminist rape culture that ignores the rape of men. It's clear as daylight that a woman with the same story would never be ignored.

"Rape culture" the term was invented by men's advocates who were concerned about prison rape.

Our mainstream culture cannot be called "a rape culture" although we may be able to correctly describe some ideas and expectations within our culture as rape-enabling (even if unintentionally). And most of these ideas seem to enable the rape of men moreso than that of women.

"If he's hard, he's consenting." "Men can't be raped." "Rape by engulfment isn't really rape" (the Mary Koss argument). "Prisoners deserve to be raped anyway" (disproportionately impacts men).

Feminism has contributed to rape culture, in other words. And by refusing to let men's issues be addressed, it sustains rape culture.

I highly doubt that as 100% of the people using the term are feminists referring to western cultures condoning the rape of women (which is of course bullshit, but still). It's even taught in feminist/gender studies courses as such.

There is literally nothing in western cultures that would "enable" rape (of women). That there's a tiny minority of dolts out there saying stupid shit is not representative of culture in general. Please don't lend credibility to anti-male progressive bullshit.

The term still originated in the film "Rape Culture" which was about prison rape (which is almost always the rape of men). Feminists appropriated the term, but the term still originated with that particular movie.

There is literally nothing in western cultures that would "enable" rape (of women).

For the most part, these days you're correct, but the whole "yes means no" coy courtship game, or how many women don't exactly communicate very clearly and unambiguously in certain dating-type situations, can certainly make consent/the lack of it a much less clear matter than it otherwise should be. This could fairly be thought of as cultural artefacts that can (very much unintentionally, of course) make rape more likely.

But true, nothing in Western culture actually says "it is okay to rape women."

Certainly, men are the bigger victims of rape culture these days, not women.

Please don't lend credibility to anti-male progressive bullshit.

"Rape culture" has no logical connection to progressive politics. I'm a libertarian so the last thing I am is a progressive. However, I do see value in the phrase "rape culture" and in particular I think it should be repeatedly stressed that Mary Koss promotes rape culture through defining rape-by-engulfment as not-really-rape.

If they say "if he's hard, he's consenting" kind of shit wouldn't it also be true "if she's wet, she's consenting"?

[–]JakeDC 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Many women orgasm during rape. Is that consent? I don't think so.

There exists no configuration in which men aren't the cause of all evil:

  • Woman get raped by man: well, obviously, Patriarchy created rape culture is to blame.

  • Woman get raped by woman: never happens cause woman are wonderful, but if it did, Patriarchy.

  • Man gets raped by man: men's fault due to toxic masculinity/fragility permeating society forcing them into power struggle manifesting in rape

  • Man gets raped by woman: men's fault due to men's dominance over women, making them feel scared and eventually lash out by raping little boys. Not the woman's fault.

  • Woman falsely accuses man of rape: can't happen because we must always believe the victim. But if it did happen, it was to start a conversation to prevent men from raping in the future. Just because they haven't raped yet, doesn't mean they never will.

  • Man falsely accuses woman of rape: Patriarchy for sure. False accusations are clearly wrong, if made by a man.

  • People don't believe woman's accusation of rape: Patriarchy. Men need to domineer woman. Same technique as using rape itself. Keep woman scared and down. If a women doesn't believe another woman, internalised misogyny created by our mano-centric society and fathers telling daughters they are worthless and to submit to the will of men.

  • People don't believe man's accusation of rape: Men have created a society where rape of women is encouraged, so highly doubtful a man can be raped. If he was, he deserved it due to being a recipient of the male privilege which created the rape culture to begin with.

Feminism 101: Men are evil.

The most comical post is where the Feminut is given a link to the film "Rape Culture" they freak.

Yet another acolyte of the Cult Of Delusion is shocked into more insanity as they desperately defend their delusion.
