I am seeking any advice possible, I am lost and facing complete injustice. The next three paragraphs are just a bit of recent background information, the current unjust situation is told at the end if you want to skip.

My ex wife has always been a bit crazy, and has a tendency to lie and manipulate to get what she wants. Our relationship began when she was 15 and I was 17 and she lied about a being on birth control and she got pregnant after 6 months. She was on mood stabilizers/antipsychotics and generslly just full of drama. We could never do anything fun because she lied about having a heart condition. I decided to move away for better employment after graduating when she called me once I had moved and said she was pregnant. That was also a lie, but we stopped using protection after she told me she was pregnant so she actually GOT pregnant. I wanted to make our relationship work for the sake of being in my daughter's life consistently, and we ended up getting married and having a second child. I was constantly critiqued for doing anything to better my life. When i went to college and also worked to support us, I was told I was a failure of a father for not being around more... While she chose not to work or graduate high school, depsite our being able to pay for childcare. She also always feigns illness, pain with no medically identifying cause, and casually takes strong painkillers like dilaudid and Ativan for hmheadaches and soreness, sometimes while watching our children. I have always put the corrupt part of her personality aside for the sake of our children, but now that we have been separated for a year and she realizes I will not being getting back with her, she has done the unthinkable to obtain full custody.

Our parenting arrangement was that I was to have the kids every other weekend, and two nights a week. We have joint custody, but she obtained primary care status three months ago on the basis that she now has an inhome daycare and can watch out 2 year old throughout the day until 5 while I am at work, even on my week nights with them. I was not particularly happy about this arrangement, as our son was doing extremely well in his previous daycare and now is much more attached to her and less independent and more likely to be upset about going out, such as to grandparents, his home with me, and other outings. I also feel my ex is somewhat of an inadequate daycare provider, with lack of organization, cleanliness, healthy snacks (hot dogs and chocolate milk and instant noodles are eaten daily by my children with her) and has become harder and harder to have healthy eating at our home when all they want to eat is the processed junk their mom feeds them. Our children and my ex are CONSTANTLY sick. Every single week, one or two or all of them. I don't know the cause, it's never identified, but I feel it's a combination of lack of cleanliness and poor nutrition. My ex has also told our older daughter that our son sees bad spirits in her house, which is why our son can't sleep well there, and usually has to sleep with his mother. I found it very disturbing she would tell our daughter something like that. My daughter has told my new partner and I that their mother will take her shirt off to calm them down when they are upset, my ex has told me in defense the importance of skin to skin time. For our two year old, maybe? But our nine year old- what??

When we first broke up, she left me for her boss she had been sleeping with for several months (without my knowledge) and she began to move him into our matrimonial home immediately after I left. Their relationship ended in less than a week after we broke up when her father came by and realized her boss/boyfriend was older than he. Two weeks later, she moved her new boyfriend into the home. I am very upset she brought different people into our children's lives so suddenly, and then proceeded to fight with her new boyfriend in front of our children consistently (I hear all the details from my daughter). All the while throughout these relationships, my ex consistently was also trying to get back with me. Although it was she who had left me, I really had no interest in going back to a person like that, shared children or not. A few months later I found someone I wanted to be with. We hung out almost every day (on days I had the children ((3-4 full day and nights per week)) it would be outside of the house after the kids were asleep) and after three months I introduced her to them. I was extremely worried about my older daughter liking her, but they actually hit it off RIGHT away. My son instantly liked her as well. We had an amazing spring and summer, but come fall my ex began to feel very jealous of how well we and the kids were doing (She also told our daughter she didn't like my partner and didn't want her to love her anymore) and decided to take me to court for full custody. Her reasoning? The kids were with her until 5 every day anyway, it was apparently hectic for them to be picked up for the night through out the week. She requested I could see them every other weekend. The court dismissed her request, advocated we continue shared parenting and we rotate weekends and each have 2/3 nights a week with them, but still gave primary care to her, meaning I now have to find a way to pay $400 a month child support, as well as provide all transportation, feed them breakfast, dinner and pack lunches, pay for a 3 bedroom house, all on a $13 per hour wage. I have absolutely no idea how I am going to do it.

This is where it gets unbelievable. Almost four weeks ago, it was their mothers weekend with them, but my ex asked if I could take our son to his swimming lesson early morning and then keep him until noon, so she could take our daughter to a fundraiser. So I agreed, eager for the extra time with him. I show up first thing in the morning to pick him at her house, and she gets visibly upset, I assume because her ex boyfriend was there and she didn't want me to know she was bringing him around the kids again. She said I should have met her at the gym, because she was going for a workout. I reminded her I am not a mind reader, she just needed to communicate that with me beforehand and I could have done that, but I ws instead told that she was going to a fundraiser, not going to the gym and making our daughter sit there and watch her workout. Anyway, after the lesson, she approached me and our son with our daughter and began making comments about MY partner, saying she doesn't want her around the kids anymore, she's "heard things", such as her sleeping around and doing drugs. I was absolutely shocked she would say such a thing in front of our daughter who would fully understand such accusations, and politely but firmly asked my ex to refrain from saying such things around the kids. She did not stop, but went on to, unprovoked, defend her seeing her ex again, and how nice he is to the kids. I was silent and did not respond to her anymore until I said goodbye to our daughter and she was in my ex's car. That is when my partner pulled up (she was getting groceries during the swimming lesson) and I put our son in his car seat. I then proceeded to finally respond to my ex, saying, now that she is here, is there anything you would like to clarify? My ex refused to say anything to her, so I said, can you reassure her you never do drugs and we have a honest, consistent, stable relationship? (Which is complete truth. We rarely fight and never in front of the kids, we are open and honest, hard about our goals and strategies, and have the best relationship ever- literally no reason for sleeping around lol and we don't do drugs. Occasionally, we will smoke a bit of weed, but absolutely never around the kids) My partner stayed calm and reassured my ex she had nothing to worry about, but my ex's only response was "if you want some kids, why don't you go pop some of your own out!" My partner was shocked, but responded, still calmly, "When I'm ready and done my post secondary I probably will, but in the mean time I have developed a great relationship with this man and his children, and I hope you and i can also work on having a civil and friendly relationship." My ex started swearing and made a comment about being patronized, and started yelling that she was taking our son, despite the original plans for the morning until noon. She came over to our vehicle and began grabbing our son who was already strapped into his carseat. My partner began to tell her to calm down and I put my hand on her hand/wrist (placed- not grabbed!!) and also asked her to calm down, and pointed out she was shaking and acting rashly, swearing and our son had begun to cry. She threw my hand off and used her wrist to push me, and (not being a big guy) I began to fall over but took a step and rebalanced myself, accidentally bumping my shoulder against hers. Then.. she started SCREAMING. She screamed get off me, get away from me... And people ran over. My daughter didn't actually see anything but at that point started crying to and began to get out of the car when her mother told her to get back in. Me and my partner just had our mouths open absolutely shocked, comprehending but not believing what was happening. The first person to run over was a CPS worker. She spent about 30 seconds talking to me asking who was hit, and I told her my ex has shoved me and I accidentally bumped her back regaining my balance but she was freaking out... When I say "bumped", I mean like, if someone in a grocery line up bumped you as lightly as I did getting my balance back, neither person in line probably wouldn't even acknowledge it or apologize. The CPs worker then proceeded to speak toy ex for about 20 minutes.. until the police showed up. They pulled up stating "We are here for I am assault" and I exclaimed, "Really?? Assault?" And my ex said, "I didn't say you did!" But upon talking to the officer i was told she was choosing to lay charges. My partner's witness to the entire thing was completely discounted. The police stated it was a he said-she said scenario, but they were going to have to lay charges and since it was her weekend with the kids they were going to charge me with assault. I said, well, considering the one who was actually hit, I would like to lay charges. They refused. So i went to RCMP, who said it was a military matter as it happened on base, it went back to the MP and they said if I really wanted to file charges go to the court house. I go to the court house, they said go to legal aid. I go to legal aid, they say go to the court house. No one will do anything for me.

I am no longer allowed to make any contact with her, which is actually wonderful, since it was always her blowing my phone up for every little reason and needing help with endless matters sometimes un-related to the kids at all. "I lost my daycare license and I'm sad, will you come see me?" "My toilet is clogged, will you bring me a plunger?" "The internet is acting up, will you try to fix it?" "Our daughter won't get dressed, will you talk to her?" "We should talk to the kids again about maybe getting back together in the future. Are we?" Unfortunately, the new custody exchange had to happened with one of her parents instead. Her parents have been known to ..Change the kids minds about wanting to see me. They always make plans for when they are supposed to be with me, then I have the job of either being "selfish" (by having them when I'm legally supposed to) and disappointing them or giving up time with them to do an activity with their mom and mom's parents which they could have easily planned on their time. So by the second exchange, my ex's father showed up with out the kids, saying they didn't want to go. I chose not to argue because I didn't want to get in trouble, I was just going to bring it up with my lawyer. The third exchange, I was told they still didn't want to come home, and to call CPS. I had an appointment with CPS the Monday after the weekend the alleged assault happened, and was told I could contact my case workwr any time I needed. I was told they were doing an active investigation but that if every thing I said was true I had nothing to worry about. So I didnt. In fact, a lot of the stuff (which had the benefit of being truthful) I had to say about our history and what was going on made the caseworkers jaw drop. She thought it was really messed up how my ex made emotionally conflicting comments about my partner to our daughter, how my ex lost her daycare license and continues to watch kids, how she tells the kids they see ghosts and how my ex insists on long private conversations with me and excludes my partner. The case workers said that so long as we have a stable relationship and continued growth and development with her and my kids, everything is going great and my ex should be more excepting of the situation, it's about the kids welfare, not her personal feelings and jealousy. So that was about 4 weeks ago I had that interview. It was 3 weeks ago that I was told by my ex's father I wouldn't be getting the kids and to call CPS. I have called nearly every day, sometimes more than once, trying to reach my caseworker, or anybody who can tell me why I can't see my children. I have don't NOTHING wrong, am being falsely accused of assault and essentially being labeled as an unfit parent. I was finally given another appointment with my caseworker yesterday for today, she cancelled. I am going insane. I have not gone with out seeing my children for more than four days in their entire life, and now it has been three weeks. Can anybody give me some direction on what to do next? Is there nothing I can do but wait for cps to talk to me?? I have also requested lie detector test at the police station but they have refused, staying it's unnecessary. I think it's unnecessary to take away someone's children because of one unstable parent and ex's lies & manipulation for full custody....
