Meh. Some women may want to go to a bar and not be approached by men. I don't see why there should be a problem with a bar having such a rule. It probably won't be popular among men, and that's okay.

Perhaps there could be a bar where men aren't allowed to buy drinks for women and they have to pay for their own. Although that bar probably wouldn't be attended by women :)

It's a sexist premise that is only viable because we live in a sexist society(both in the way women treat men they don't want to be approached by and in the expectations placed on men to approach women in the first place). Ironically, this could have been a really revolutionary approach simply by encouraging women to approach men in a positive way(changing the typical bar dynamic) but, instead, they just choose to go with the most derogatory message possible(essentially treating men like the plague).

Realistically though, most women wouldn't really be interested in going to a bar where men don't approach them(women already think very little of men who don't approach them in bars first) and men hopping to go to this bar hoping to be approached by women will either leave incredibly disappointed(because women won't really be interested in approaching them in the first place) and feeling horrible about themselves given this place's approach to men. This seems like a very poorly thought out formula.

They would have been more successful with an "approach a man and get a free shot" promotion for women.

There are several reasons I have a problem with this sentence, but the one that stuck out for me the most was the idea that the people operating this bar think that women actually approach men to begin with. What universe to do these people live in? Surely they've seen how guys hit on girls in bars? The only men who actually behave this way are the stereotypical douchebags who nobody likes anyway.

Although not unheard of, men approach women and buy them drinks, not the other way around, and putting the ball in the women's court to initiate conversation in order to successfully get the men to buy them drinks is an ironic twist to a courting ritual that put a lot of pressure on men. So all those ladies that leave their wallets at home, expecting men to pay for their drinks, are in for a real treat when they go to this bar. If they go to this bar...
