Lemme put it this way.

Imagine huge numbers of people, including celebrities, were saying: "The Future is White."

I don't think any other comment is necessary.

Its a bad slogan. I think it's supposed to mean "women have been marginalized in the past, but will not be marginalized in the future," but that's not what it says. Assuming gender is binary, it's totally reasonable to see the slogan as anti-man because of the word "is". If the future "is" female, then the future "is not" male.

The slogan "Black Lives Matter" works much better. Just because black lives matter, doesn't mean white lives don't matter. BLM just means that "we object to those who who would say that black lives don't matter."

I have one of those t-shirts. To me, it is a primal scream -- women have rights and have agency. I bought it shortly after the dumpster won.

A great many of us women feel that his election as president is an assault on women. Here you have a man who by many accounts has physically assaulted women, who is so obsessed with how women look, and who tried to use a reporter's menstrual cycle to discredit her (Megyn Kelly). His administration further intends to/is already in the process of rolling back the abortion rights discussion several decades. (I see in your question that you believe men in fact do have a right to tell women what to do with their bodies. I won't get into that here except to say that this viewpoint is anathema to many women.)

I also marched in the Women's March, although I carried signs that were not gender based. (There are so many things wrong with the dumpster, that I personally did not see his sexism/misogyny as being the highest on the list.) In LA, I saw tons and tons of men marching on our behalf. It was so affirming, exhilarating. To see men marching was one of the most poignant highlights for me. As the organizers said, the march was open to all.

It is so exciting to see that women are leading the resistance. The country may have a pussy-grabbing president today, but the future is female! Obviously, I don't want or expect women to take over or men to be eradicated. But I do believe that women will rise up to be heard and to be counted. We will achieve full personhood. Men cannot grab us or legislate us with impunity.

Ps you might get more responses if you posted this question outside of the Men's Rights subreddit... since the slogan is about women's rights. For example, my sister, who also marched, is not a fan of the slogan as she feels it excludes men.

Women have made great strides economically. It may simply look like there is a trend that can be extrapolated.

Why I don't think that the future has to be female: As riches and technology have advanced the position of women, I see no reason why they might not also benefit men. For instance, the artificial womb would be a serious challenge for womens' role in society. Women are still extremely dependent on the work of men and would die rather quickly without their work. Key industries like resource generation, transportation, infrastructure maintenance and most of STEM are male-dominated.

They're just sheltered in their bubbles of safety and wealth. The truth is that men are the backbone of society and always have been. Men build the infrastructure, transport the goods, remove the trash, make the amenities, and respond to emergencies. If all the men stopped working there would be no electricity, no fuel, no maintenance, no emergency services, no armed forces, etc etc. If all the women stopped working society would just return to the 19th century.

On some level women know this, most appreciate it and love men, some say silly childish meaningless things like "men are obselete."
