Shutting down media is impossible under the Constitution, but many here miss the OP's point of an issue with the media & election: The majority of media acting simply as propaganda outlets for one side is itself a danger to democracy.

The fourth estate likes to claim itself a co-equal branch of government and of freedom, but it failed its role in this case.

And it is not entirely baffling where some of the frustration is from (a second election in 16 years where someone won the electoral college with fewer votes? And now Trump's team is claiming they have a "mandate"? Sorry, no, that's not what "mandate" means.) and Trump's campaign was hyper-divisive in a jaw-dropping way. I had salt-of-the-earth taxi drivers and bartenders in the UK tell me that he looked like an utter madman.

After Bill Clinton was elected, there were nutcases burning him in effigy as the reincarnation of Hitler and panic-buying guns because he was supposedly going to "take the guns away" with his ATF goon squad (and, in fact, some of those nutcases blew-up a building in Oklahoma). The SJW reaction has been truly hilarious -- unless you're one of the Trump supporters being beaten up by 'hood rats, in which case it's probably not that funny. Shutting down the pseudo-liberal media is not the answer, though. In fact, it's fascist -- like pseudo-liberal scum such as Gaga calling for the electoral college delegates to vote against the will of the people.
