Apologies to these 19 men for my callousness, but they're not really an issue.

The real issue is that it's far more than 19 cases.

Rape claims are on a sharp rise. Far as we know, between 10 and 90% are false. Some demonstratibly false cases have enjoyed wide media coverage.

To compound the issue, society's response to this is questioning the presumption of innocence, hand-waving the burden of proof, eschewing responsability for proved liars, and ruining the accused men's lives.

This does read like a recipe for societal suicide on so many levels, it's astounding.

I got falsely accused of rape and now I'm afraid of any physical intimacy with anyone new. I completely avoid dating now.

It does seem like false accusations are on the rise due to media coverage, but has anyone found any data that can point to it being the case?
