Why in the world would men join the poorly paid caring industry when they excel at top jobs? Men don't need to make room for women at the top. Learn to be better than men rather than asking men to be less and find the top spots yourselves.

I'll bet there are heaps of guys that want to do some of those roles. I support them being made aware that as a dude they can do it if they want to be a teacher, social worker etc.

I'm a bloke, was really interested in people and how they work, but went off to become an engineer instead. I'd love to have been encouraged back then to pursue a career as a social worker which I did eventually become.

But it's nobody's job to make it happen, making boys more aware of those other options. Unlike for women where There are people in paid roles researching, promoting, writing articles about getting women into stem. We need that for dudes to.

I support the removal of barriers men face towards teaching professions. Due to the extra risk males face being elementary school teachers, men are less likely to pursue such a career.

Why can't we as a society just fight individual cases of sexism as we see it and not worry about the percentages of women or men here or there and not worry about making room for anybody?

It's women's jobs to make men feel welcome in these industries. I mean that's what these been saying about men with regards to women in tech.
