Wow, the girl didn't even find out what happened until it was headline news. The moment she woke up she was being told she had been raped, no wonder she reacted how she did fuck

[+][deleted] -10 points-9 points-8 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I know. If they didn't make these silly claims she had been "raped", she would have just been like, just another crazy drunken night, haha lets go post about it on Facebook. And next weekend she would have been back in the saddle. Crazy bitches these days.

[–]CountVonVague 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No, it's more like a whole bunch of people telling her about what happened during a night the woman can't remember when They Don't Even Know is kind of a bad idea. Fuck off with your "crazy bitches" bs you fucking two day old account! For all she knew she had been utterly violated in every way, hell, she said she wanted to "cast off her body" and for a while she went into a zombie shut-down mode!

she said she wanted to "cast off her body" and for a while she went into a zombie shut-down mode

No, that's a hangover.

I can understand using a throwaway account for some other forums, but if your beliefs are so way out that you want to use a throwaway on MensRights you really are something special. Are you actually Hitler?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, I am to feminists what Hitler was to Jews. Nice to meet you.

[–]xietty 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

so edgy

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jews survived, Hitler didn't. So your self-deletion is appropriate.

Brock Allen Turner, 20, was found guilty of raping 23-year-old at a frat party

I thought he wasn't.

Wikipedia says:

The two formal charges of rape under California state law were dropped at the preliminary hearing, but Turner was convicted of three other counts of felony sexual assault, which he committed when he was 19.

Could someone explain me?

[–]girlwriteswhat 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He didn't take his pants off. I'm not sure of the statutes in California, but often "rape" can only be committed with a penis.

I read the statute for California. Rape is "sexual intercourse" which is not defined in that statute, but the existence of separate offences for oral and anal penetration and for penetration of vagina by other objects suggests rape in CA is limited to PIV. On the other hand, he was initially charged with rape so I dunno.

[–]td9red 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think part of the problem with the sentence is the feeling that this is a privileged white male who got a slap on the wrist. If this had been a poor nobody black guy he would be doing 14yrs. This case is similar to the Afluenza teen drunk driving case. In that case the same judge just one year earlier gave a young Hispanic male 20yrs for drunk driving and killing 1 person. The white and privileged Afluenza teen killed 4 people and got days in jail.

[–]Murlocgoesmurgle -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

So she gets drunk, he gets drunk, they both go out back, kiss, he fingers her and kisses her breast, and then he goes over to vomit. This is not the violent encounter that people keep saying it is. I can see why the judge only gave him 6 months, seems like his life is pretty much over now anyway. He's already been revealed and most people will think of him as a sex offender, he'll be lucky to be able to support himself with a job at McDonalds after this.

Remember guys, just don't get drunk around women, in fact, just don't be around women. Why risk throwing away your entire life away when they can destroy you with a few words to the press. The real punishment won't ever be from the judge, it will be from the masses.

It's really not an easy choice. I can totally understand why people are a little riled over this considering the facts of the case. I'm glad that we can have a civil discussion on the matter.

I will say though that it might be that she was moving, and the swedes didn't get a view of the event properly since I doubt they would just stand there watching it happen. I think that Turners account will probably be more accurate simply because no other account can be made for the other side. Not to say it can't be bias, but that it's all we have to really go on.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

The media is using this case this generate a massive storm so they can push through anti-male affirmative consent legislation around the world.

You should see the coverage of this in Australia. It is unbelievable. The media will do this over a minor case in another country but stays mute when women in Australia get the pussy pass for sexually abusing children.

The mainstream media is to men what Nazi Germany was to the Jews.

[–]Murlocgoesmurgle 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn't freak out too much to be honest. I think once we have a way to have kids without women, things are going to change and fast. The best thing we can do for mens rights is to advance technology, because I don't see any other way of fixing the insane problems that we have.

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

Would you say it matters that children have access to their fathers?

How could anyone get ethical approval to start the huge amount of testing required to develop the technology? Look at the problems with stem cell technology.

This sounds to me like a fantasy that people can use to avoid facing reality.
The other parts of the fantasy are that the father would be extremely wealthy so he could afford it, and that the pool of rich men who want motherless children would be large enough to attract investment to develop the technology, and that the technical, ethical and regulatory risks would not scare off the investors.

[–]Murlocgoesmurgle 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'm offering a solution, if you have an alternative please let me know.

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The traditional method is still vastly preferable for almost everybody. If there were an alternative I don't imagine it would get much use, any more than embryo transplants today.

[–]Murlocgoesmurgle 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I would disagree. Some men just want to be fathers, and not having to worry about having it be taken away because the judge rules in favor of the mother.

So again, if you have an alternative to help change society, please let me know.

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I can understand that. Wanting a baby but not a partner happens to women too, it is quite rare though.
I don't expect it would be any more common in men, I have never seen it even mentioned, let alone desired, outside of a small proportion of the (rather tiny) MRA movement.

So it would be a benefit for a small proportion of individuals, not a noticeable change in society. The thing is, I don't think it is even on the horizon for young boys today, and it is cruel to set them up thinking they will or may have that option later in life, when they won't. (Unless I'm wrong about the medical, legal, political and ethical problems. I have not looked into it).

[–]Murlocgoesmurgle 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The other reason is that it would make it harder to justify women as being something we need to constantly protect, which is kinda the reason why we're having a bad time in the first place.

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I agree the view that women need protection does have some bad side effects for men.

I don't think the need to protect society's baby factories is a factor in modern times though. People protect women because they are physically weaker and are realistic targets of sexual violence.

Yeah, he only stripped off her clothes

Consensually according to him, and not disputed or disproven by anyone or anything.

You guys can't seriously be trying to defend someone who was caught in the act

The only "act" he was caught in was dry humping a unconscious woman's leg. Not great, but not the crime of the century.

If he were poor and black he would have been given the maximum with 3 felony counts.

r/blackrights

I really get the men's rights movement but this guy is not your poster boy and rationalizing a defense of him makes you look more like confirmation bias thinkers than rationalists.

He is exactly our poster boy for the reality of rape persecution and the gross difference in how the media responds to women getting pussy passes and young drunk college kids getting a bit of understanding.

Are you saying alcohol turns you into a rapist? Have you gotten so drunk you can't judge that stripping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster is wrong? No?

According to him that was all consensual. She obviously passed out at some point, after the penetration. Even if he did continue for a few seconds, yes that would be rape, but at a level where the 6 month sentence was appropriate. And no, alcohol doesn't turn you into a rapist, but when you have two drunken students engaging in random casual sex, obviously there can be ambiguous aspects, especially when the woman wakes up the next morning.

Alcohol doesn't make men rape an unconscious woman and this isn't a case of someone having sex while drunk and regretting it later. He tried to run when he was caught so he was clearly sober enough to realize he didn't want to be caught. So let's not blame the alcohol and blame the person, rather than trying to spin this into some men's rights issue and the evils of drunk women.

That's your account. Because you were there and saw it all right? His account seemed credible to me, and there was no evidence to dispute it. The Swedes didn't really see much at all, and probably jumped to conclusions. He felt threatened and ran.

Disappointing

Maybe you would be happier over at 2x or mens lib. I dunno.

He admitted that he digitally penetrated her while they were both intoxicated. It may well be that he admitted that he was digitally penetrating her when he was discovered by passersby.

Regardless, you don't get dirt and debris in your vagina by being fingered while standing up, even in a nasty, dirty alley. You get it from being on the actual ground while those things are happening. That much I know (though don't be rude enough to ask how, lol).

How did a jury convict Brian Banks of a crime that never occurred, let alone that he was guilty of?

All good questions...

One of the postgrad students who found them has spoken to the press now. She was immobile, he was thrusting vigorously into her pelvis.
People usually look away when they come across folks screwing, or at least they don't intervene. In this case it was immediately obvious she was not conscious so they yelled "Hey, what are you doing". He got up and ran away.

Why didn't he try to pull her to her feet to run away with him, if they were so scary?
He said she had an orgasm after a minute of fingering. Women usually are annoyingly alert and energetic after an orgasm so she should have been good to run. If he only then discovered she was unconscious, why would he abandon his naked lover to two strangers?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

he was thrusting vigorously into her pelvis.

That's a funny way to describe someone with his pants on dry humping a leg.

Why didn't he try to pull her to her feet to run away with him, if they were so scary?

Err...she was unconscious by that stage, didn't you do any research?

Women usually are annoyingly alert and energetic after an orgasm

What you see while wacking off to Japanese porn isn't true for everyone in the real world you know.

why would he abandon his naked lover to two strangers

Scared, drunk, panic, some combination thereof. How do I know?

The interesting thing here is a man is sentenced like women have been and people are losing their shit. They are damn near calling for the judges head on a pike. I'm sitting here wanting to laugh at them and point out their hypocrisy.

[–]omegaphallic 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's a good point, where were these people when woman get these light sentances.

[–]Mackowatosc 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At homes, content with "feminist justice" because female must be on top of the situation, no matter what she did :)

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think what happened was terrible, quite disgusting actually. What I am pissed about is all the SJW and these pent up house wives are saying "Hopefully my son will not be a Brock Turner", basically suggesting all men are rapists.

It makes me pissed, I guess all women teachers have sex with little boys and once they have a baby they force the family to pay for the child support.

Absolutely outrageous assumptions from SJW's.
