An IT spot opened up in my company. I have a college degree in an unrelated field, but have experience coding, working with networks, and other pc skills.

A girl who has been there only a year, and only has a GED got the position. When I pressed the IT hiring manager for a real answer because he was giving me bullshit, he let it slip that he felt women are underrepresented and that's why she got it over me.

That's not only it though. 3 other girls applied who have college degrees...They're just not as atrractive. So basically this fucking dweeb hired her because he's a white knight/old creep.

Needless to say I put my two weeks in. It's a shit job that I have, so no real loss. I think I'm going to study for some certs and hope I can land an entry level job in network security. Luckily my wife has a great job, but I'll probably go work at amazon so I don't feel like a mooch.
