I thought people might like this article from FreeRangeKids, a blog that argues against child-safety paranoia. In it, Lenore gives a few examples of the worst being assumed about male teachers/tutors.

Another thing in that article is that the author mentions "Girls in their early teens had a tendency to get handsy, so we would reassign them." I wonder if teenage boys putting their hands all over a female tutor would be looked at any differently.

As you can tell, I have sons. And when I read this sort of thing I want to rage and weep in frustration. I’ve spent decades raising thoughtful, decent, honest, kind and respectable men and society wants me to treat them like pariahs deserving of no compassion and understanding.

Amazing the amount of power women have, both in childrearing and then in opening society's eyes to the rampant man-hate/fear/shame/blame/etc.

One more reason to segregate women and to teach males separately by males. Let the females teach their own girls. If it doesn't work out well for women, blame feminism and the matriarchy.
