Holy shit the bullshit just kept flowing. MRAs value traditionaly gender roles? Since when? MRAs broke away from feminism because we thought fathers should be equally involved with their children as mothers, and feminists disagreed. MRAs don't "blame women" we put some of the blame on feminists because they are responsible for a lot of the sexism today. And then they finally brought up the Elliot Rodger lie again. They never gave any evidence at all that Rodger even knew about MRAs

MRAs value traditionaly gender roles
I thinking being able to see men as vulnerable and women as powerful is a central to the MRM. Feminism on the other hand needs us to see women as vulnerable and men as powerful, or their ideology falls apart.

Man's greatest weakness is the façade of strength. Women's greatest strength is the façade of weakness.

Elliot Rodgers had forum posts about killing all other men so that he'd finally have access to sex. So in that sense he was a feminist with the ##killallmen hashtag.

So, what are we thinking.
Piece of shit journalist who doesn't do their job properly, or disingenuous and cynical propagandist with an agenda?
Incompetence or malice?

This is ... inaccurate. I mean, there are "red pill" Elliot Rodger types out there - but also many others who are politically liberal, and see "traditional gender roles" as bad for men. Articles like these always dump all political views they don't like onto MRAs. You often see them claim, for example, that MRAs are all anti-LGBT, which in my experience is very not true
They just don't think standards of journalistic integrity include accurately describing MRAs; rather, they just want to demonize MRAs. For them, that's the higher value.
Also, read this correction they added:
Update: After publishing this piece, I got inundated with angry Twitter mentions from self-identified MRAs and MRA sympathizers. Amid the cesspool, though, several people objected to the idea that Rodger was actually an "MRA." That's a bit complicated, but fair enough; the piece has been updated to better reflect those nuances. Rodger was, however, inspired by the kind of virulent anti-woman resentment that is too often fostered and given safe haven in MRA spaces.
(that said, Trump does suck)

Yeah, no. It's not complicated at all. It's simply wrong.

Yeah I'm not agreeing with it, just posting it. I think it shows what I was saying, that their distaste for MRAs is stronger than their journalistic principles.

Yeah, should have made that more clear... I'll edit my quote to show it's a quote of a quote.

Elliot Rodger wasn't a "red pill type," he was a lunatic.
That's all.
