Why have they been named?

Why has she not been named?

Why were the police trying to railroad these men and withhold evidence?

Unfuckingbelievable.

[–]DillipFayKick 15 points16 points17 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what I came to say. Irreparable damage has been done to their reputations and no one thinks that is a problem. Except of course the fine people here have already had their eyes opened (probably) to the way men are treated in society.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

what you should be asking is

"why is he being charged for videotaping the act, which functioned as exculpatory evidence for him and his friends?"

Answer is : the police dun goof'd, and they are out for blood as a result.

"Why have they been named?" Males. "Why has she not been named?" Female. "Why were the police trying to railroad these men and withhold evidence?" Feminism. "Unfuckingbelievable." Predictable.

I assume she going to be charged with wasting police time, perverting the course of justice, fraud or something similar, right? She doesn't get to waste years of these peoples lives, have them publicly named, tarnish their reputation, endanger their education and career, waste thousands of pounds in legal costs and thousand of hours of people time and then just go "Actually, I changed my mind, lol".

Nope, that's exactly what she gets to do.

Why were the police trying to railroad these men and withhold evidence?

Apart from the fact that some of them fucked her?

Apart from the fact that some of them fucked her?

Apart from the fact that they never thought to charge her over nothing either?

because its easier to get the ball rolling and get a bandwaggon/witch hunt started this way

all while these people are innocent..

Anyone know the details of this. The article was quite short on specifics. From what I was able to gather, a bunch of posh twats got drunk at a party and ran a train on a wanton strumpet on the roof of a building. It was videotaped. She later claimed rape when the video came to light. But, the girls' text messages showed she consented to it.

Amirite?

[–]dipper94 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what I got from it too.

[–]Rethgil -5 points-4 points-3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No offense but if you're really seeking evidence wouldn't it be quicker to Google a couple of terms than to have written and posted such a lengthy reaction? It is being reported in detail in papers of different political views, Left and Right.

At work. Don't have much knowledge of UK papers/media.

[–]Vance87 13 points14 points15 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Evidence is rape apology...just ask mattress queen.

[–]Rockbottom503 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Put through the ringer by the court system and the judge is more concerned about what the boys might have to say on social media than what they've been put through and that their names are tarnished for life! Disgraceful

[–]redditorriot 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The BBC article makes absolutely no mention of the police withholding evidence and of text messages.

[–]Consilio_et_Animis 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Again, shocking. They are very careful to publish big photographs of the falsely accused men, and to detail the charges against them and their full addresses. Why is this necessary when they are innocent?

They also slip this bit in:

"The head of the South West Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit consulted with the complainant and her family to ensure they knew and understood the decision, whatever their view of it."

Translation: we know they must be guilty, and they just got off because of "rape-culture".

I will email BBC complaints, which has, in the past, produced results.

Page is now archived here: https://archive.is/inHZF

EDIT: Their full addresses are published, not just their towns.

[–]redditorriot 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

They're the only report I've seen that fully publish their address rather than just their town.

[–]Consilio_et_Animis 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You are correct. Thanks.

Note that the men are described as "defendants". But they're not anymore are they?

Do you think that if they had been found guilty the women would still be described as the "accuser" or "complainant"? That's assuming that she is not described as the "victim" from the outset!

[–]derpylord143 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

they are now innocent and should be called such, in fact the only way that can now change is if new evidence arises which would have been enough to completely change the outcome or in their words "fresh and compelling evidence" which realistically speaking has to be a substantial amount as the original outcome has to be quashed by the court of appeal. so unless they get a tape of them drugging her or something as potent this aint going back to court.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How about "Four innocently accused tell of shocking ordeal at hands of female accusing smearer-we name her and call for legal change over equality of anonymity".

One day my friends, one day....

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There seems to be corruption and collusion by the CPS and Police to bring prosecutions at any cost. Why would the Police with hold evidence if they were not truing to stitch up the accused?

[–]Consilio_et_Animis 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just so shocking. As soon as I read about their upcoming trial, I could just tell it was a sham.

And the big, full-length pictures of the men, and no naming of the false-accuser.

[–]Sourdust2 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Still getting charged with "Extreme pornography" what the hell.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

retributive justice. the police messed up, so they at least want to nail one of them to the wall.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Prosecution also denied the defence basic legal process by refusing to hand over to the defending team a bunch of texts from the 'victim' that showed she had consented to sex. No, really. Its reported in The Guardian story on it. And that's a LEFT wing paper!

[–]Electroverted 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Duff, 22, a polo player whose mother Melanie was a Tory councillor for Swindon Borough Council and Mayor of Highworth, had faced three counts of rape.

Hey SJWs, didn't you know you're only supposed to go after low-hanging fruit, like middle class white men or lower? Sounds like you bit off a little more than you could chew.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

your statement implies they won because they were rich, and not because they were innocent.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They won because they were innocent AND rich enough to afford a good defense.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

thats a statement i can get behind.

[–]Electroverted 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I sure did!

[–]FFXIV_Machinist -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

so you think that they just paid away their rape vs actually being innocent?

[–]Electroverted 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I sure didn't!

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

which is it >_>

[–]cgwriter 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they're implying the more terrifying element which is, what happens when you're accused like this and you don't have the resources to defend yourself?

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oops. They normally go fishing in the footballer pond. Less elite connections swim there.

[–]Electroverted 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, black males are that juxtaposition of being both a protected group as well as being stereotyped as sexually violent, so I think it becomes easier for SJWs to go after them if they're "privileged college football players."
