What do you guys think? The Judge only sentenced the man to jail because the jury convicted the guy. The Judge clearly showed his displeasure towards the Crown.

One jury could find you guilty when another wouldn't, one judge could find you guilty when another wouldn't. As severe and final the consequences of the legal system are, the process can be remarkably arbitrary at times.

That being said, the complaint does sound like BS. She consented to sex at first, then he tries anal, she says "ouch," stops, she goes to the bathroom, comes back, they resume sex, but stop after awhile, and she leaves.

The prosecution says the anal wasn't consensual, nor was the resumption of sex after she went to the bathroom, because the man didn't ask first. That is "affirmative consent" logic right there, which means the man has to ask "may I?" every 10 seconds or else he is a rapist. I've gone to the bathroom in the middle of sex before, was it up to my girlfriend to ask me if I wanted to resume sex when I came back to bed? Or would I still be the "rapist" in this situation because I didn't ask her?

Thankfully (or unfortunately, since he still got convicted) the judge uses common sense:

'"The accused and the complainant both have the capacity to communicate their wishes and say 'no'," he observed.'

This bitch ruined this guys life over consentual sex, and people wonder why Jack Nicholson's character said that when he writes female characters he thinks of men then removes reason and accountablity.

Not that all women are like that, but fuck far too many do ruining mens lives.

The only saving grace is that the paper didn't publish his name. Won't have public shaming to deal with.
